Dr Dennis Gross Vitamin C Lactic collection

We are big Fab Fans of Dr. Dennis Gross, so much so I partnered with them to giveaway their products during my annual birthday giveaway week. Their products are no joke. Efficacious, innovative, and they work so well – even on my super sensitive skin. This brand has recently released another banger of a collection – the Dr. Dennis Gross Vitamin C Lactic collection.

Vitamin C is an antioxidant – meaning it acts like a scavenger. Those free radicals in all layers of the skin don’t stand a chance as it destroys them before they can do damage. It’s also integral in the production of new collagen. Repairing the top layer of skin (epidermal layer) which is our skin’s first line of defence it also reduces excess melanin production (hyper-pigmentation) by interrupting its production.

The power of Vitamin C has been thoroughly studied…so what is new about this line, you ask? Well, this line is led by new research combining the super power of Vitamin C with Lactic acid.

What is Lactic Acid?

Lactic Acid is the perfect partner for Vitamin C when the pH is balanced – which in this formulation it is. Essentially, Lactic Acid exfoliates your skin by loosening the bonds between dead skin cells to reveal a more radiant complexion.

Lactic Acid in this formulation does five important things:

  1. Improves absorption of Vitamin C by removing the surface layer of dead skin which allows the penetration of Vitamin C into the epidermis
  2. Improves the performance of Vitamin C
  3. Replenishes the ceramides to help strengthen and repair the skin’s moisture barrier and lock in moisture
  4. Increasing the water content, it causes Vitamin C to do even deeper into the skin
  5. It acts like an antioxidant – killing free radicals higher up in the skin’s layers

This collection is really great for just about everyone but is specifically formulated for those who’ve had too much sun exposure at some point in their lives (so…everyone?). The sun is a sly guy and you may not see the results of over exposure until many years later – this is called ‘delayed onset’ and is something the Vitamin C Lactic collection addresses.

What is Delayed onset?

Delayed onset presents through pigmentation/discolouration, fine lines, loss of firmness, and large pores (as the collagen around the pore has been broken down so the pore looks wider).

The Dr Dennis Gross Vitamin C Lactic collection has four new products making up this super-power collection.

15% Vitamin C Firm & Bright Serum | $85

15% Vitamin C Firm & Bright Serum

With an oil-like finish, this firms skin while reducing fine lines, brightening your skin, and strengthening your skin’s moisture barrier. It works really well combating melasma and is a perfect complement after an Alpha Beta peel treatment.

Vitamin C Lactic Firm & Bright eye treatment | $68

Vitamin C Lactic Firm & Bright eye treatment

This silky lightweight emulsion feels really lovely one the eye area. It absorbs super fast and helps reduce dark circles, puffiness, and fine lines in just one week (according to their clinical trials). You can use this eye cream day and night.

Vitamin C Lactic Oil-free radiant moisturizer | $72

Vitamin C Lactic Oil-free radiant moisturizer

This moisturizer reduces the common signs of aging while firming skin. I love how lightweight it is and that it helps protect my skin’s barrier with its formulation containing Centella Asiatica and Niacinamide. This moisturizer is also great to use after a peel and a serum. It is reported that 92% of people saw healthier and brighter skin after just two weeks of regular use.

Vitamin C Lactic Dewy deep cream | $75

Vitamin C Lactic Dewy deep cream

This is an ultra-rich replenishing cream. Perfect for these drier months of the year. Just like its name, it has a lovely dewy finish. This formulation firms and minimizes fine lines. It is such a treat for your face.

A tip for when applying these products – think thinnest to thickest. You want that thick, dewy cream as the last step of this routine.

I’d love to hear if you’ve used this collection or what Dr. Dennis Gross products you love most.
