It’s hard to believe that everything I have today with my husband was essentially illegal on the day that we first met.
Together over 13 years, the legalization on same-sex marriage in Canada was only legalized just over 12 years ago… And in America, only an unbelievable 2 years ago.
When I first met Rob, the love story I can tell today was just a hope and dream that I wasn’t sure I would ever be able to tell.
So imagine the feeling we had, when our American friend called us to say he had just seen a commercial, showcasing our recent Palm Springs Wedding, on ABC!
It’s impossible to describe the emotions we feel, to see a moment in our lives that we were told growing up could never happen, now a reality and aired for the world to see.
We hope this video shares hope, love and support to every kid who has ever been unsure that love can be real, fair and just!
Thank you to the State of California who has been an ambassador and a fighter for change…. And to Palm Springs for allowing people to be proud to love and sharing that wholeheartedly.
This is an unbelievable moment in history and in our lives that we grew up thinking was unimaginably impossible!
