Weleda Seit 1921

September 26, 2018

Weleda is a brand that’s been around for literally decades (since 1921). Their mission is lofty in the best way: to create natural products with exceptionally high standards of quality you can trust by using sustainable production processes and environmentally friendly practices. Impressive, indeed.

Being a fan of holistic practices, I was always curious about Weleda, but for some reason had never tried the products. By luck, I received an invitation to a lovely event held by the brand and thus my courtship with Weleda began.

I fell hard for a couple of products. Like, going exclusive and saying cíao to others, hard.

Iris Hydrating Day Cream & Iris Hydrating Night Cream

First product that made me swoon for Weleda was the Iris Hydrating Night Cream. Just take a peek at how ‘loved’ that tube is. Immediately, I had to try the Day counterpart. Though advertised for Normal or Dry Skin, these Day & Night complimentary iris oil face creams are simply lovely for my sensitive combination skin.

Let’s be honest, my T-zone is akin to an oil slick, but my skin soaks these creams up will nary a residue for long-lasting moisture. No day-glo shine here, only hydration. Day or Night. They are both staying in my beauty cupboard for good. They feel wonderful when I take a ‘me moment’ to smooth them on as the texture is divine. Plus, the delicate scent of essential oils is delightful – slightest hint of citrus.

Arnica Massage Oil

THIS. Weleda is big on creating quality time to reconnect with one self. So, it could be the combination of actually taking the time to care for myself by massaging this oil into my muscles along with the super body healer ingredient, arnica. Arnica is well known in the body care world as it heals all – bruises, swelling, soreness, etc.

After I applied the oil, the area tingled a titch – perhaps the limonene (?) as I’ve never had that reaction to straight arnica before. The morning after, my muscles actually felt better, like they were rejuvenated. After teaching 4 fitness classes in one day and had to teach 3 the next, this massage oil was a body saviour. Seriously. I use it regularly. I highly recommend for anyone who uses their body for work, likes to work out a lot or even has muscle or ligament pain in every day life. Tip: I rub into the ligaments around my knees after running a lot and the next day my knees feel better. Cannot recommend enough.

Skin Food

Woke up feeling like a popsicle this morning: change of season is definitely upon Montréal. It’s like a switch goes off and my skin says, “okay doke: hands and lips, transfer all of your moisture to the insides as we gotta keep only essential systems running”. Skin Food is a BRILLIANT formula.

Thick and not overly scented. I keep this in my handbag as it feels like it continues to protect my hands even after washing. PS was a dream for my chapped lips – someone got a puppy and still can’t stop kissing him – pop this on before bed and voila, soft supple lips in the am.

These 4 Weleda products are in my face and body care arsenal for good. I cannot wait to continue trying more of what the brand has to offer. And the bonus, I like what Weleda stands for: Certified Natural Personal Care. Be that in product, how they treat their staff by having meditation moments or simply by encouraging their customers to truly treat themselves with daily face massages. Mindful messages of quality over quantity. Weleda is a brand to get to know.

Bisous,
