Arin Hiebert – Food Network’s Spring Baking Championship

April 3, 2020

Ever since Arin Hiebert could remember, he has loved baking – a passion he shares with his grandmother.

And currently, he’s sharing his passion with the world on Food Network’s Spring Baking Championship.

A 9 episode series which sees professional bakers compete in a multitude of weekly challenges to earn advantages and accolades in order to be saved from elimination and move forward onto the next week.

Thus far it looks like Hiebert has a decent chance of winning the entire competition! Impressing the judges week after week.

After wowing the judges with his out-of-this-world shooting star cake, which won him episode two, Arin has continued to receive gushing compliments from the star-studded panel.

Hiebert has not only brought his award-winning creations to the show but also his Canadian charm as one of only two Canadian contestants to take part in this season of the Spring Baking Championship.

From encouraging his fellow competitors, he also shares his sense of humour, exuberance and personality.

You’d probably get kicked out of Canada if you didn’t like maple syrup.” Hiebert jokingly explained (season six, episode four).

So what does a star baker love the most about baking?

Having the ability to take unique ingredients and turn them into something tasty. A term he refers to as “fun science”.

Hiebert’s rule of thumb is that that “If you aren’t having fun, you aren’t doing it right.”

But it’s not always sunshine and roses on Spring Baking Championship as on occasion Hiebert has to struggle things going less than perfect. “You could do everything perfectly and you never know how things are going to work out.”

That said, Hiebert’s does have some helpful advice for the novice baker.

“Follow the recipe. It’s written that way for a reason, and don’t short cut on ingredients – AKA real butter please. The end result might not be pretty, but if it tastes good– chalk it up as a win.”

It’s with that positive outlook that has us believing Arin will continue to go far in Season 6 of Food Network’s Spring Baking Championship!

Tune in to Food Network every Monday Night at 7pm MST to catch the newest episode.
