For me, a born and bred Canadian girl, Shoppers Drug Mart holds a special place in my heart. It’s where I bought my first mascara, where I scour the aisles looking for that unbelievable deal, where I always default to when I need something functional to frivolous.
The aisles of Shoppers are always filled with new brands, trusted favourites, and iconic classics. You can be adventurous, or a creature of habit and get just what you need.
For me, I live to try new things and want to spill the tea on three of my favourite underrated Shoppers Drug Mart finds.
Embryolisse | Lait-Crème Concentre $40
I am in true love with this product for the past seven years. Since I lived in Europe this has become a staple in my beauty cupboard; I would stock up on it while in France. So I clicked my heels with joy when I found out you can now buy it in Canada!
Truly the most perfect moisturizer – it is a cult classic for good reason (and why I squeeze every last bit of it out of the tube, as shown;). It’s perfect in all seasons, it sinks into my skin leaving it perfectly moisturized and helps my foundation lay flawlessly. Unfortunately not available in all Shoppers, when you find this product – scoop it up!
Caprina Fresh Goat’s Milk Body Wash
I was kindly invited to a launch event celebrating Caprina’s extended line and new packaging.
Before this event, I had not heard of the Quebec brand. A true made-in-Canada success story based on passion and innovation; the entire Caprina line is incredibly hydrating and packed with all the benefits goat’s milk brings – like lactic acid to gently exfoliate, Vitamins A, B, C and E to brighten and hydrate, and it is pH balanced.
The entire line contains 50 products, but my favourite is the body wash – it feels extremely luxurious and all scents smell wonderful. For the price, this is a Shoppers find that checks all the boxes.
I am a fan of Quo. Their makeup collections are not only always packaged beautifully, but they are priced right and offer great quality and highly curated seasonal colours. But it’s their tools that I think are underrated.
Their make-up brushes, eye lash curlers and sponges are some of the best around for incredible prices. Their current Fall collection includes a stunning brush set in luxe brushed gold that are flat bottomed and magnetized, coming with a magnetic stand, so your brushes can stand at attention, not being crammed and mangled in some tight little make-up bag.
They are given the breathing room they deserve! Innovative, high quality, great price. This is why I love Quo.
Now…sometimes shopping in-store can be a drag as they don’t have your colour or don’t carry the brand you want. Well, welcome Shoppers’ fully e-comm site! You can buy all your favourite mass and luxury beauty products from the comfort of your sloppy ‘ol PJs at home!
It is Canada’s largest online selection! The new site is shoppersdrugmart.ca/beauty – now prepare to get lost in browsing everything that is offered! YSL, Smashbox, rms, Rodial… to all your mass faves like Maybelline and Quo.
I tried out the shopping experience and the site is pretty good! A little slow to load is my only feedback. But the best part of shopping was all the free samples and ‘gifts with purchase’ I received!
I bought a few new brow products from Maybelline and Benefit I’ve been wanting to try, Rodial’s new Eye Sculpt, Blue Lavande’s spray hand sanitizer (trust me, the best!), Maybelline’s Instant Age Rewind Eraser concealer (the best for such a price!) and received a stila glitter shadow, a choice of three perfume and skin care samples and a ‘Beauty Bonus’…which I can’t wait to find out what it is!
Friends, this changes everything. I no longer have to go to Sephora for some brands and Shoppers for others…they all now live in perfect high low harmony.
