In the hot days of summer, I literally want nothing touching me. Some people embrace the heat… I however, want it to be Fall 365 days a year.
I wish summer had crisp air, a cool breeze, and products that don’t make me feel sticky or greasy in the stifling heat and humidity.
These summer-friendly products are heat and humidity pros I think you’ll love as much as I do.
Founded in France in 1945 by French dermatologist and cosmetics enthusiast, Dr. Arnaud, I was introduced to this brand directly when they reached out to me via my YouTube channel. Immediately intrigued by the idea of learning more about a French heritage beauty brand, I was thrilled when a sampling of their most popular products arrived at my door.
The delivery contained their French Riviera Elixir – a dry oil that smells and lovely as it works.
I am a fan of dry oils in the summer and regularly use them on my post-shower body. They hydrate me without my skin feeling like it’s wearing a layer of thick lotion. They also make me feel like a super classy lady, I mean regular lotion is so bourjois, n’est-ce pas?
This dry oil smells like I imagine rich French women smelling. I love it so much I’ve also been using it on the ends of my hair to keep frizz at bay. This brand is hard to find, but they do have an online shop, here.
Because I don’t like the heat and sitting out in the sun to get a tan is a nightmarish idea for me, I am a very pasty person…a pasty person who enjoys the illusion of a tan.
I’ve tried every type of self-tan there is, so when I was sent this St Tropez One Night Only Finishing Gloss, I was eager to give it a whirl. Applied overtop of an existing ‘tan’, or used on it’s own, this gloss ads a gorgeous subtle sheen and instant hint of bronze to your skin. I think it is the perfect product to apply before a special event or a night out to give your skin that extra boost of faux radiance.
Sweat and water resistant for up to 80 minutes, Vichy’s new SPF 60 Sport lotion protects you from UVA and UVB rays without making your skin feel like it’s wearing a greasy layer of yuck. It doesn’t slip slide off your sweaty body and it laughs in the face of humidity. What I like the best is how lightweight it feels and how you can apply this product to wet or dry skin. I also like how much you get for the price – so many sunscreens cost the same and provide you with enough for approximately one afternoon in the sun, this should last you all summer.
I’d love to hear what your favourite summer-friendly body products are!
