Beer and I have never really been best friends, but moving to Calgary a decade ago, something changed that:
A local craft brewery that had some pretty committed followers in Calgary, a company I knew I needed to check out!
Located in a small space on the Currie Barracks, I decided to stop in to sample their wares.
And from that moment, I too became a loyal follower.
Now this little engine that could has moved from its tiny abode into a new, oversized and sparkly facility… And last week they threw the ‘house warming’ party of the year!
During the night I had an opportunity to sneak behind closed doors like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and tour their new home with Brian Smith, the Director of Brewery Operations.
Sadly, there were no half sized orange people running the machines, just a team that “takes their beer extremely seriously, but never themselves.”
“Four things go into all beers: water, malt, hops and yeast, but the it’s the passion of the people that sets Wild Rose beer apart from the rest.”
And trust me, you can taste that sentiment in each one of their brews.
And with their newest home, Wild Rose will have the ability to turn out more product for the masses to enjoy!
Their old brewery and bottler which turns out 25 bottles a minute will be kicking it old school until 2015, while their newest location is equipped with a 36 headed bottler and will churn out 200+ in a under a minute.
Wild Rose is an amazing company with exceptional people that have supported Calgary’s fun and lively culture since 1996.
It’s just another reason to visit to this exceptional city!
