I had the privilege of sampling this product for the last month and can officially declare, this sensitive skin gal is in love. I often steer-clear of physical exfoliants as they are too harsh for my aging, sensitive skin – but this new MicroDerm Polish worked wonders with no irritation – partly due to some great application tricks given to me from AlumierMD’s Senior Clinical Educator, Ellis Holevas.
So here is your first look at the new AlumierMD MicroDerm Polish
Now, this new exfoliating facial scrub is really all about revealing your skin’s radiance through actively exfoliating and retexturizing your skin. And can’t we all use that right now? We know winter climates are harsh on our skin – often leaving our skin dull, dry, and needing some intense love.
What I love about this new polish is the microfine, biodegradable, perfectly spherical exfoliation particles. Nothing rough and rugged damaging our skin. These particles are 100% natural jojoba esters. Exfoliation increases cell turnover and help your actives work more effectively.
The new AlumierMD MicroDerm Polish also contains grapefruit peel oil. This is A) great for the formula’s scent, and B) fab for deep pore cleansing and lifting congestion, removing buildup, all without compromising the skin’s natural barrier. There is also glycerine in this product which is a natural humectant, also helping to maintaining barrier function and hydration in the skin.
Now – for my fellow sensitive skin folks – here are application tips from Ellis that have really done the trick for me:
- Mix the MicroDerm Polish with a gentle, creamy cleanser to apply
- When applying, think of a gentle gliding motion, rather than a vigorous scrub
- When removing, use soft cloth to first brush off the excess before you wet your face with lukewarm water to remove the rest
- Use only at night, once weekly
A few other great tips from Ellis for MicroDerm Polish use were to:
- Never forget to apply the Polish to your neck, decollete and back of your hands
- Time the polish application and removal process with your shower, to keep any potential mess contained 🙂
- If you experience Keratosis Pilaris, you can also use this Polish on your arms
Of course, if you don’t have sensitive skin – you can use this polish more often and don’t need to mix the formula with a cleanser.
This new MicroDerm Polish is great paired with AlumierMDs EverActive C&E + Peptide antioxidant serum and their Sheer Hydration Broad Spectrum SPF 40 (a personal fav of mine).
