November 27, 2021
best gender inclusive holiday gifts

This year the beauty industry has released some incredibly innovative, effective and gender inclusive skincare for the holiday season.

Most of the products I am featuring here are women-owned, natural, and new to the Canadian market.

First up, a real multi-tasker from a Canadian-made, gender inclusive, all-natural skincare line, formulated with ethically sourced essential oils.

WOSH Bodycare is a gender-neutral skincare line ranging in price from $11-$38

WOSH skincare

Canadian brand, WOSH Bodycare (pronounced, wah-sh) can be used on your face and body. It’s proven to help all skin-types, including acne-prone, sensitive skin, and for those who experience eczema.

Believers in ‘less is more’ – WOSH products contain just seven ingredients. Their signature Body Bar is a multipurpose product you can use from head to toe. It’s a face cleanser, body wash and even a blemish buster. WOSH products help balance skin pH levels and protect the skin barrier. They’re also vegan, hypoallergenic, odour-free, cruelty-free, gluten-free, sulfate-free, paraben-free and dermatologist and pediatrician tested by an FDA-approved lab. Woot!

Using the unique Kisolite® Biogenic Mineral Powder (BMP) ingredient found in British Columbia, this mineral dates back to the last Ice Age – originating under the Cordilleran Ice Sheet. This super mineral has real customer testimonials validating improvements in managing acne, eczema and psoriasis.

When I lived in London, UK I was obsessed with the AllSaints shop on Carnaby Street…I could never afford a single item, but loved to go in and explore. And now – AllSaints is found here in Canada and their new, gender-inclusive fragrances are found at Shopper’s!

AllSaints Fragrances (with their newest scent, Concrete Rain) | $99

AllSaints fragrances

Designed for everyone – these fragrances are not only beautifully designed, they are modern yet familiar scents I know will be a hit as a gift this holiday season. There are six fragrances (I’ve taken the below descriptions from their website):

AllSaints Concrete Rain | Concrete Rain features notes of black lily, orris concrete and silver rain accord that create a unique sensory experience. With subtle wood and transparent musk, this scent imitates the way rain naturally calms the senses.

AllSaints Incense City | Evoking a mystical and spiritual experience, Incense City features fresh, smokey scents with notes of cedarwood for a calming and long-lasting scent.

AllSaints Metal Wave |Metal Wave is an unexpected scent that combines both masculine and feminine traits. With notes of papyrus wood and juniper berry, this fragrance effortlessly merges the dry, woody base with a layer of sweetness.

AllSaints Leather Skies (my personal fave)| Leather Skies combines both tangible and transcendent features to create a scent that emits comfort and intimacy. With warm, leathery notes of black sandalwood, this fragrance is sure to create a lasting first impression.

AllSaints Sunset Riot |An imperfect balance of calmness and explosive energy, Sunset Riot creates the perfect mix of woody and floral scents. With notes of cedarwood and orange flower, this fragrance delivers warmth and freshness at the same time.

AllSaints Flora Mortis| Creating an unforgettable and celebrated experience, Flora Motis combines notes of smokey orchid and amberwood for a woody floral scent that symbolizes the beginning and the end.

Now that you are smelling like a delight, let’s butter you up.

The Body Shop’s new Avocado Body Butter | $24

The Body Shop's new Avocado Body Butter

Did you know The Body Shop launched the first Body Butter in 1992. Today, Body Butters are so loved one is sold every 3 seconds worldwide. I’ve been using the Coconut Body Butter since the early 00s and am so happy to welcome their new, Avocado Body Butter.

Made with sustainably sourced Hass avocado oil from South Africa, handcrafted Community Fair Trade shea butter from Ghana and Community Fair Trade Brazil nut oil from Peru. This creamy Body Butter comes in recyclable packaging made with an aluminum lid and 100% recycled plastic tub and is a perfect stocking stuffer.

I feel such satisfaction when I recommend a product to someone dealing with a skin condition and it truly helps them! I recently recommended this stick for someone dealing with eczema and they’ve reported back that this did the trick.

Satya Organic The One Stick | $25

Satya The one Stick

Founded in 2016 by Patrice Mousseau, Satya Organic Skin Care is a Vancouver-based, Indigenous-owned, female-led skincare company on a mission to make natural, effective and steroid-free skin relief accessible for all.

The One Stick is Satya’s “holy grail, multi-purpose moisturizing formula in a simple, refillable twist stick”. I love it’s refillable so you only need one! It also contains no steroids, fragrance, gluten and is derm-tested. I think this product is excellent for anyone who deals with winter. Dry skin, irritated cheeks and hands…this is what you need.
