Very rarely I am introduced to a brand and fall in love with all their products. I honestly can’t think of another brand on the market where I’ve loved everything I’ve tested so so much. Because of this unicorn-magic-style experience, I wanted to share with you the details of my month using Biossance products. I’ll dish on each product while walking you through my top Biossance product selects.
Why is Biossance such a good brand?
Biossance is an Eco-conscious, efficacious, and sustainability-focused brand. They create skincare without harming the environment or animals. They focus on minimal packaging, carbon-neutral shipping, and they don’t use over 2,000 ingredients that are known to be toxic to you and the environment. Their squalane is a great example of creating an environmentally-friendly solution to the ingredient once only harvested from the livers of sharks – yikes.
What is Biossance squalane made from?
Not to be confused with ‘squalene’, something the human body produces and decreases production for as we age – Biossance created a bio-fermentation technique to produce squalane from 100% plant-based, Eco-friendly, renewable, ethically-sourced sugarcane.
Why is squalane used in skincare?
Biossance’s squalane is used in skincare because it has so many skin benefits! It locks in moisture. It is weightless with an extremely high absorption rate. It works to improve skin elasticity while calming and protecting the skin. It also helps to balance skin’s oil production – all without clogging pores. The ultimate multi-tasker!
OK – now – let’s chat the Biossance products I used every day for one month! I basically squeegeed the jar empty I loved this first product so much…this is definitely a top Biossance product I know you will love. I used this twice a day for the month.
Biossance squalane + omega repair cream | $58USD
Dare I say this is my favourite new moisturizer this year? Yes. I dare!
Coming off a terrible SPF reaction where my face broke out into a huge rash, I only wanted gentle, easy wearing products to help restore my glow and skin barrier. The Biossance squalane + omega repair cream did the trick. Within a few days my irritated, red, and rashy skin calmed down and was shortly back to how it was before ‘the incident’.
This smooth, radiance-boosting moisturizing face repair cream has all the good fats (lipids) your skin wants and needs. Like avocado…but for the face. Lipids mimic and support skin’s natural moisture barrier – the ones incorporated into this formula are their plant-derived squalane, omega fatty acids, ceramides, and plant sterols. They work together to help plump, hydrate and restore your skin. Your skin will feel smooth and soft while looking radiant and healthy.

This eye cream feels spongy and luxe yet it absorbs so quickly (so it is perfect under concealer and make-up). I would describe the texture and effect as though it melts into my skin.
The squalane and marine algae eye cream is cruelty-free eye pairing the “power of marine algae and paracress extract for maximum performance”. Helping to reduce the look of fine lines, this has long-lasting hydration and won the 2020 Allure Best of Beauty Awards, and 2021 Glamour Beauty Awards “Best Eye Cream”.
Biossance squalane + lactic acid resurfacing night serum | $62USD (this is a sample size 🙂 )
This is the type of product you use once and wake up in the morning to seriously soft and smooth skin.
Containing re-texturizing lactic acid serum that dissolved dead surface cells, and squalane that soothes and fortifies the skin…this is a powerful one, two punch.
Lactic acid is a superstar ingredient – this AHA helps uneven texture, minimizes the signs of aging, and brightens the skin. I find two pumps covers my whole face. I used this only at night on clean skin three times per week (once I apply my eye cream) and follow up with moisturizer. I also use this on my neck and décolleté. Its powerful but gentle enough to use nightly if you wish.
This product is so great it just won the Women’s Health Beauty Awards for ‘Best Serum’. It is so great I also incorporated it into my ‘Best brightening and renewing product’ round-up, here.
Biossance squalane + glycolic renewal mask |$48USD
The first time I used this mask, when I washed it off I audibly said ‘holy smokes’.
Yes, it is THAT GOOD! My new favourite multi-tasking mask that transforms the texture of your skin in just 3-10 minutes. Not only does this mask peel and exfoliate – it helps decrease the look of fine lines, ease discolouration, and leaves your skin unbelievably smooth. By incorporating Glycolic acid, multi-alpha-hydroxy acids, and mineral spheres – this mask brightens, plumps, removes dead skin cell buildup, and softens your skin. It. Is. Incredible! I used it twice weekly for under five minutes each time and my skin loved every minute of it.
Biossance squalane + zinc sheer mineral sunscreen | $42USD
This lightweight, deeply hydrating sunscreen lotion blends in for all skin tones fast without leaving a trace. No white residue. No pilling or clumping under make-up.
I adore the texture and formulation of this SPF. It sinks in instantly due to their plant derived squalane. When I wear this product, I forgo my moisturizer as this protects and moisturizes my skin. This can be tricky to find right now – but check out amazon and US-based beauty sites. It is due to launch this Fall in Canada and when it does – snap it up!
The Biossance squalane + zinc sheer mineral sunscreen is so great I included it in my yearly best SPF round up! My only small beef – I wish it came in a larger size.
Biossance squalane + rose vegan lip balm |$14USD
Biossance reformulated their popular fragrance-free lip balm – as you can see, it is now housed in a hygienic tube with packaging made from 100% renewable sugarcane. I love this format swap as I don’t like the idea of dipping fingers into pots…it just creeps me out.
The Biossane squalane + rose vegan lip balm uses an ultra-hydrating blend of ceramides, hyaluronic acid, and sugarcane-derived squalane that I find keep my lips hydrated for hours. The incorporation of rose wax and wakame algae keeps my kisser soft and plump. I often layer this under lipstick to create a sheerer colour that will never dry out my lips.
I publish stories less frequently because I actually try products out – incorporating them into my routine. It is unfair to talk about a skincare product if you’ve only used it a short period of time. Let me tell you I use the product – ensuring I introduce the product cautiously into my routine so I can clearly speak to the results experienced. It is so important to me that I truly represent products and share with you just my very favourites.
