Those sticky, uncomfortable days of SPF wearing are over, Friends. There are so many amazing SPF products on the market that are affordable, effective, and easy to find. Tinted SPF you’ll actually want to wear!
Today I am dishing on all things tinted SPF. I am super pale and often tinted products look orange on me, so I am always very reserved with praise for tinted products. The below tinted SPFs leave natural, ‘enhanced’ hues on my pale skin.
First up – the silky smooth, can’t-even-tell-I-put-in-on, Vichy Idéal Soleil SPF 60 ultra-fluid tinted lotion| $32
This simply fantastic tinted SPF has UVA and UVB protection, and leaves my skin naturally enhanced looking. I don’t wear a foundation over this product – not because I couldn’t, the consistency will totally allow make-up over top, it’s just that after applying, I don’t need to! I can’t say enough good things about this product. Here’s a swatch:
Next up, a very comparable SPF to Vichy in terms of tint and texture, the marvellous (I buy this every year) Garner Ombrelle Ultra Light Advanced SPF 60 |$16
This silky smooth tinted SPF is weightless, it needs a good shake before you apply. It has broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection, it’s fragrance free, hypoallergenic and water resistant.
I have SUPER sensitive skin when it comes to SPF and again, I love it (as you can read here), and buy this year after year.
Next – the tinted AlumierMD Sheer Hydration physical broad spectrum SPF 40 moisturizing sunscreen lotion | $48
This has a versatile tint – it goes on a little purplish on my skin, then sinks into the skin leaving a lovely, natural enhanced hue. Thicker than the Vichy or Ombrelle formulations, this lotion does not come to play. It uses a combo of zinc oxide and titanium dioxide and moisturizes with Vitamin E. It also includes antioxidants (including stable Vitamin C) and grape seed extract. When I use this SPF I forgo my moisturizer and my foundation – a time-saving SPF win!
Next up we have two back-to-back very different but equally fantastic Eau Thermale Avène products.

That is right! An SPF compact. How brilliant is this? We all know we are supposed to touch up our SPF throughout the day, but I know I hate the thought of covering over or smudging my make-up application…but with this compact you can gently reapply SPF easily. No smudges!
I love how purse and pocket friendly it is and that it comes in four shades…plus it’s specifically formulated for sensitive skin. Yes please!
The final tinted SPF also comes from Eau Thermale Avène. It is their Avène Cleanance tinted day emulsion SPF 30 |$30
A moisturizer first, this brilliant product not only fights blemishes, keeps your skin moisturized, it exfoliates and gives your skin a beautiful glow.
I adore this product. It is the perfect multi-talker. I use this only – no additional moisturizer or foundation required. It is absolutely perfect for Summer.
Now – a few tips when applying your SPF:
– Use a good amount. Don’t skimp! You need at least two finger lengths of product to cover your face, neck, ears and chest.
