Our Fall Skincare Faves!

Today we will be going LIVE on Instagram to share our best tips and fave skincare products that have us middle aged bitties Tik Tok youthful!

Fresh faced with dewy skin is our goal and the products below are the ones the have us looking and feeling our most FAB!

Here they are:

Cleanser

We expel toxins through our skin at night, and it is important to start your routine with a clean canvas. So you want to purposefully wash your face in the morning. Hopping into the shower and hoping some of the water splash will do the job will not do the job.

M Fab says:

Wash with a textured face cloth and warm water, or if you have some make-up remnants from the previous night – a cleansing balm.

I recommend a microfibre cloth – you can buy these on amazon, or if you are into it, Norwex sells some really good ones. Balms are lovely for the morning as it acts like a mini trip to the spa. Currently I am loving the Cleansing Balm from Monat – really does the trick and is great for nighttime make-up removal as well.

Mr. Fab says:

For me it’s all about the ease to remove excess oil and dusty dirt from a long day out and about so for that I turn to Cetaphil’s Gentle Foaming Cleanser.

It’s Rich, airy lather is infused with skin conditioners and a vitamin complex E and B5 which leave my skin soft to the touch and clean as a whistle.

Toner

Why tone? Because they rebalance your skin’s pH and help your skin barrier remain strong.

M Fab says:

Toners are very popular in Korean skin care and the brand, Yehwadam has this Rejuvenating Radiance Toner that balances the pH level of your take while taking any impurities while minimizing pores. Yes please!

Mr Fab says:

I love the smell of roses so I spritz with Korresc Hydrating Face Mist H2Rose.

Using rose water as toner can be a great alternative than using chemical based toners which might dry out the skin. Rose water has soothing properties and can be used as an all-natural skin toner.

Serums

Hyaluronic Acid serum ‘H.A’, is a must. Do not pass go, do not collect $200. If you picture it like a sponge that holds onto moisture throughout the day. It is the key to instantly plumping fine lines and making skin look glowy. Because it acts like a humectant it draws 1000x its weight in moisture into the skin throughout the day.

M Fab says:

My favourites are: aN-hydra Hyaluronic hydrator – this is a waterless formula which saves on packaging and leaves a drop-dead gorgeous glow to the skin or Hydraluron from Indeed Labs.

This product is made in Toronto and is a women-owned business, which I love – it is priced nicely, found at Shoppers or online.

I hate the word obsessed… but when it comes to L’Oreal’s Revitalift Triple Power LZR 1.5% Pure Hyaluronic Acid Serum, I can not think of a better word to use!

It plumps away my fine lines and leaves my skin super smooth and glassy… I can not live without this product!

Moisturizer

The key with moisturizer is to apply it evenly on your face and down your neck. When your neck is dry, it can take moisture from the skin of your face. So work the cream down your neck, using upwards sweeping motions

M Fab says:

I really like the Clinique iD BB gel – this one gives you a nice sun-kissed look, and the fun thing with Clinique iD ‘Dramatically different moisturizing BB gel’ you can pick which cartridge booster you want. This is the booster and this is the cream. You plunge the booster into the cream and then the pump releases just enough of each, every pump. The catridges work on specific areas of concern – like there is one for pores and uneven texture, one for irritation, fatigue, or lines and wrinkles. That is the one I use.

I also am hooked on Avene’s Hydrance tinted BB emulsion with 30 SPF – if you need instant dew, an instant glow…this is the ticket. I love to wear it as a complexion product – no need for foundation with this. It is seriously so great. And Avene is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year – so I’d watch out for celebration deals.

I like my moisturizer thin to apply and super hydrating. My go-to over the last year has been Vichy’s Minéral 89 FORTIFYING & HYDRATING DAILY SKIN BOOSTER

It repairs, fortifies and hydrates skin to protect it against aggressors like weather changes, stress, fatigue and pollution. And it’s perfect pump measures out the amount I need for each usage!
