We spend hundreds of dollars per year on our skin – moisturizers, toners, serums and facials…but we often leave our lovely lips uncared for.
Your lips, though they look different than your skin – are very similar and need to be treated with the same extra loving care as you do the rest of your face. The difference with your lips is they don’t have any sebaceous glands…the glands that keep skin moisturized. Your lips are out there on their own…like a squirrel just trying to get a nut – relying solely on your saliva for moisture.
You gotta treat those lips, right! I will show you how with three of my newest favourite lip care products I know you will love.
Indeed Laboratories | hydraluron™+ volumising lip treatment – $14.99
New to the market, this intensely hydrating lip treatment not only hydrates, nourishes, promotes skin elasticity, and improves roughness…it plumps!
Without the use of irritants, this all-in-one works to visibly plump your lips – smoothing out deep wrinkles (…um…can I apply this everywhere, please?). I love how smooth and silky this product feels on my lips – more creamy than sticky.
I carry one with me at all times as I love how instantly it makes my lips feel at ease – all without parabens, colourants and fragrances. AND I love it because it’s Canadian and made, right here, in Toronto.
Omorovicza’s Perfecting Lip Balm – $45USD
You have heard me go on about this brand – I truly love it and think all of their products are incredible and worth the splurge. Their brand new Perfecting Lip Balm is no different.
Packed with shea butter, eucalyptus oil and hyaluronic filling spheres – this not only leaves your lips hydrated – but plumper, fuller and softer.
I like how it very gently tingles while delivering hydration that lasts and lasts. It really stays put and you can easily mix it with your lipstick for a sheered out, glossy look.
Shiseido’s UV Lip Colour Splash – Broad Spectrum SPF 30 – $30.00
This purse and pocket friendly lip moisturizer is what you need in your routine. We so often forget to put sunscreen on our lips, and this product is a fun way to do just that.
It not only moisturizes, it leaves a hint of transparent colour…while protecting your lips from the sun with an SPF 30.
It’s easy to wear – going on smooth and silky, not sticky or thick despite the high SPF. I like it because it wears so comfortably and is water resistant – perfect for those days by the beach or pool.
