Yesterday I was invited behind the curtain to preview Glenbow’s newest exhibit;
dior – Christian Dior
Produced by the Royal Ontario Museum and curated by Dr. Alexandra Palm, Dior will offer visitors to Calgary’s Glenbow this one-of-a-kind fashion experience from February 3-June 2 2019.
The exhibit explores the the first 10 years of the iconic fashion house during 1947-1957 prior to its namesake Christian Dior death.
The collection is shown in 3 parts. Day, Afternoon and Evening apparel with a healthy side of jewels.
Each of the garments shown have been owned by Canadian women and in some cases include historical photos of the fashionable frock in action.
Oh, if only these couture pieces could talk.
From Paris to Canada, they’ve seen more of the world then a large percentage of the population.
The collection is small but the details are immense.
Get ready to be astounded and be inspired by the past.
