The sun and I have a long history of being frenemies. I burn in a blink of an eye so it is super important I slather up in the good stuff.
I want to share with you a list I have been curating for the past few months – tried and tested sun protection products I am truly a fan of, and know you will be, too.
Face Suncare Favourites:
Shiseido’s Sports BB Broad Spectrum with Wetforce 50+
In the summer I like to have a light-weight face. Never applying too many layers of products that can feel heavy or greasy, so when I was introduced to this tinted BB broad spectrum from Shiseido, I was very excited to try it out – two needs in one! Complexion enhancement and sun protection.
Coming in three shades that blend in nicely and feel light-weight with almost a matte finish, I am so impressed by how this product does not budge, even during the hottest and stickiest days.
Perfect for people who love to be active in the heat, especially water, as their innovative WetForce Technology becomes more “effective when the applied area is exposed to water or perspiration for 30 minutes”.
Supergoop’s Mini Setting Mist with Rosemary and Broad Spectrum SPF 50
This purse-sized wonder is what I have been searching for my whole adult life. Something small enough to fit my on-the-go lifestyle and a multi-tasking hero, to boot! Not only does this product provide me with a 50 SPF, if acts as a setting spray for my make-up and refreshes my skin with its amazing rosemary scent. It is truly a little wonder that leaves my face matte, make-up fresh and skin protected. You can pick it up at Anthropologie!
Elta MD’s UV Physical SPF 41 Tinted
When people ask what face suncare I recommend, I always include this brand. Elta MD Skincare’s Tinted UV Physical SPF 41 wears like a dream under my makeup, blending in quickly and leaving my skin feel light, instead of weighed down and sticky.
This chemical-free, natural mineral sunscreen is not only Fragrance-free but oil-free, paraben-free, sensitivity-free, chemical-free and noncomedogenic. I love it and wear it everyday.
Shiseido’s UV Lip Colour Splash Broad Spectrum SPF 30
Again, I adore a multi-tasker and this UV Lip Colour Splash from Shiseido offers my lips 30SPF, a hit of colour and hydration, all in one. Coming in four colours, I love how non-sticky these Color Splash’s are – they also wear nicely overtop lipgloss or lipsticks for added protection.
Body Suncare Favourites:
Garnier’s Ombrelle Dry Mist Spray SPF 60
The humidity in Toronto already makes my skin feel sticky, I don’t want my suncare adding to that uncomfortable feeling…enter Ombrelle’s Dry Mist! This is, hands down, the easiest product to use, and, with 60 SPF, I know my fair skin will thank me.
The spray comes out evenly and I rub it into my skin to ensure full coverage. It is water resistant, absorbs so quickly and does not leave any sort of icky white film on my skin. I love the leak-free bottle and non-offensive smell. It’s really a great product that I reach for everyday.
Life Brand’s Sunthera3 Mineral SPF 30
This affordable, water-resistant broad spectrum lotion is oil free and fragrance-free. All things I love! When applied, this product sinks into your skin and doesn’t leave you feeling sticky or filmy. No white residue here. I think it is a great product for people who prefer lotions over sprays.
