Last night I bibbed up and hit the Food Midway with a foodie posse in search of the Top Dog of the 2018 Calgary Stampede.
With 9 chosen competitors, 1 reigned supreme for me!
THE FAB WINNER
Big Pickle Tornado Dog by Big Coco’s ($8)
Just having won the title of Best NEW Savory Food on the Midway, this dog was also my top choice for top dog!
It’s a hotdog served with half a pickle, crumbled bacon and liquid cheese sauce wrapped in a tortilla and then deep fried!
It’s everything I could have ever wished for and more!
But of course there were some other dogs that deserve notable mentions.
BEST VALUE
The Chili & Cheese Dog from World Famous Chili and Cheese Dog (3 for $10)
Feed the family on the cheap or stuff a couple of these back post Nashville North. They’re an exceptional price and loaded with copious amounts of the ‘beaniest’ chili!
SUPERSIZED
Pizza Dog from Super Long Foot Long ($13)
A foot-long dog topped with marinara, mozzarella and spicy pepperoni.
Being the most filling AND the most expensive dog, it’s a future pass unless I win the Kinsmen 50/50.
BREAKFAST TIME
Stella by Family Dogs ($8) The Official CSFoodie overall winner
Wake up with this dog topped with crispy hashbrowns, cooked onion, fried egg, and finally shredded cheese and a ketchup drizzle
This dog has so much style that it was named after the owner’s beloved dog.
WORLD TRAVELER
Bibimbap Dawg from Fhat Dawgs ($10)
This all beef weiner is garnished with a sautéed mix of shiitake mushrooms, carrots, zucchini, cucumber and is topped with a fried egg, fresh coriander, green onion and Korean spice.
You’re never going to crave it but you ain’t mad you ate it!
