Dino Dinner

June 3, 2018

Last night I boarded a coach bus and traveled back in time to the Mesozoic World and arrived at the acclaimed Royal Tyrrell dinosaur museum for a one of a kind Dino Dinner.

Upon arrival we were first given an exclusive private tour of the bones with a palaeontologist!

We were even invited to get up close and personal as some of the preparation team carefully uncovered a 75 million year old dinosaur jaw bone and teeth.

Then it was time for a rooftop dinner, overlooking the badlands, inspired by the diets of these earthly giants.

Here’s the amazing menu we feasted on:

1st Course – Herbivore

Chef JP Pedhirney (Bridgette Bar)

Betel Leaf “Double”

Green curry, chickpea, fava beans, green strawberry jam purée, apple, spring greens.

2nd Course – Ominivore

Sumac Crusted Tuna

Chef Andrea Harling (Made Foods)

Wild greens, smoked canola aioli, morals, black garlic crispy chicken skin.

3rd Course – Carnivore

Prehistoric Alberta Pork Rack with Rhubarb Glaze

Chef Kat Edwards & Chef Rupert Gracia (Hotel Arts Group)

with Roasted Edgar Farms Asparagus & Fiddleheads

Chef JP Pedhirney (Bridgette Bar)

Poached rhubarb, rhubarb vinaigrette, puffed buckwheat, fine herbs

And last but certainly not least, one of the most imaginative desserts I’ve ever eaten.

4th Course – Fossil Discovery

Edible Excavation

Chef Ely Salar (Hotel Arts Group)

A dig through Alberta honey mousse, raspberries and chocolate.

The entire Alberta Era dinner was unlike any other dinner I have ever been invited to before.

A unique location, a one of a kind opportunity to tour the museum and an unforgettably delicious meal prepared by some pretty exceptional chefs!

Thanks to the creative minds behind Eat North for creating an amazing experience for all of us Dino lovers!
