This Thursday your comic fantasies will come to life as Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo takes over the city!
From the POW! Parade of Wonders to Frodo Baggins himself (Elijah Wood) being in attendance, there will be endless activities on and off site to partake in from April 26-29.
So to help you get your planning underway, I’m sharing 3 of my “You do NOT want to miss this!” recommendations.
These are the places you’ll definitely find me.
1. Artist Alley
On Thursday the Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo will officially open its doors at the Calgary Stampede Park and my advice is to hit up Artist Alley in the Big Four building first!
It’s a great place to get up close and personal with artists, and the perfect time to pick up some incredible original art!
Some artists even take commissions throughout the Expo, so get there early and you may be lucky enough to have yourself realized into the superhero you always knew you were!
Charge up your flux capacitor and get ready to go back in time with some of the original cast of Back to the Future.
I have eagerly been awaiting this 45 minute Q&A panel session which is INCLUDED at no extra cost with you expo admission!
Not only will you get to see Bully Biff Tannen, Mama Lorraine McFly and Doc. Brown in person, they’ll also be sharing their adventurous stories about the filming of this iconic movie trilogy.
On Friday night when the Calgary Expo wraps for the day the good times will continue on at The Rec Room with their inaugural Geek Gala Extravaganza!
Calgary’s newest entertainment complex which is loaded with unique arcade games, Canadian inspired cuisine, live entertainment and more will welcome its party guests with an included cocktail upon arrival and offer free play all night on its pool, ping pong, shuffleboard and snooker tables.
But that’s not all!
Hey! Listen! and their seven-piece instrumental band specializing in original arrangements of classic video game soundtracks will kick off the music filled night, followed by the heavy beats of Mat the Alien who is sure to whip The Rec Room into a dancing frenzy!
Tickets for this off-site Expo event can be purchased in advance here for $25 or at the door for $30 (Please note this is a 18+ event).
So make sure to get your weekend passes for the Expo and gather up your ‘A-Team’ for the Geek Gala Extravaganza and I’ll see you all there!
