Over a decade ago, on a seemingly normal day, I boarded an aircraft and what happened next has changed my life forever.
I took my seat and there, sitting next to me was a tall, handsome, well groomed man with sweet eyes and a nice smile… His name was Rob.
In that instance we would be in each others lives for ever.
And now, 13 years later, my heart still falls in love with him over and over again everyday.
Late last year, after several months of planning, I pulled off a surprise proposal and asked Rob to Marry me.
Spoiler Alert:
He said “Yes”
And now, with our upcoming wedding this Sunday, I thought I’d share the story of the proposal and begining next week, the details of our wedding.
Here was the Surprise Proposal:
The Set-Up:
With my best friend visiting, I had told Rob that I had been asked to film a short promotional clip for Alberta Tourism that would have me sharing one of my favourite places in the Province; Heritage Park.
After filming a quick ‘false’ opening to set the scene, the cameraman asked Rob if he would mind being on camera as they film some secondary footage in the heritage 1900’s newspaper print shop with one of the parks actors.
And the rest of the story unfolded like this….
Endless “Thank-You’s” to the group of people below who helped pull off this surprise proposal and to our supportive friends and families.
These are memories we’ll remember for ever!
We couldn’t have done this without you Barb Munro (Heritage Park), Nick Blakeney (Cameraman/Editor), Jennifer Baier (Breakfast Television Calgary), and of course to my friends from Canadian jeweller Ecksand for helping create the most perfectly beautiful engagement ring!
