Chalky cakey
or
Greasy shiny
or
Patchy sunburned
These seemed like the only outcomes when using sunscreen for your face.
Old sunscreen technology either left you feeling like you were wearing a mask or just climbed out of a grease pit.
The list of new products below, I promise you, will not do any of the above and will leave you protected, safe and slick-free.
Garnier Ombrelle SPF 60 Ultra Light Advanced Tinted Lotion:
A trusted name in sunscreen for the last decade, Garnier Ombrelle released a new, 100% mineral face sunscreen that is super light-weight and tinted, saving you one step in your makeup routine. With 60SPF, this packs a powerful punch to UVA and UVB rays.
What I love most about this is how my face doesn’t feel suffocated, like the way it can with some mineral-based sunscreens. It also adds a nice, subtle tint to my skin and absorbs quickly. It’s fragrance-free, and hypoallergenic.
MyChelle Dermaceuticals Sun Shield Clear Stick SPF 50:
This super handy mineral-based sunscreen dries clear and goes on so smoothly. The MyChelle Clear Stick is made with Zinc Oxide, so it is a safe alternative to chemical sunscreens.
This product is free of nasties like Gluten, Parabens, Sulfates, and Artificial Fragrances, and is completely cruelty-free. I love the stick formula, so I can toss it in my purse and apply as needed throughout the day.
AlumierMD’s range of mineral-based sunscreens:
This skin care brand is one of the few to only offer physical sun protection without the white, thick, chalky residue I often associate with zinc-based formulas. Because physical sunscreens use natural agents like zinc to create a reflective physical barrier against the sun, some recent studies have shown them to potentially be a more impactful approach to sun protection over their chemical-based sunscreen competitors.
AlumierMD has released an aesthetically-pleasing collection of physical suncare options that all have a smooth, sheer formula leaving no chalky white residue behind. Best of both sunscreen worlds!
I was given a sampler pack to try and really liked the Moisture Matte Broad Spectrum Sunscreen with SPF 40. It is a tinted sunscreen, coming in three shades – Ivory, Sand and Amber. Their Sheer Hydration Broad spectrum Sunscreen with SPF 40 was also really nice as it blended nicely and came in both a tinted and ‘versatile tint’ option.
There is no excuse to not wear daily sunscreen, Friends. These three options will leave you fresh-faced and a first class sun-damage fighter!
