This is one of my favourite times each year in Toronto. All the design stars come out to shine. Not only is it the Toronto Design Offsite Festive, the Interior Design Show (IDS) has opened their doors for another incredible year.
Here are some of my favourite booths and pieces from this year’s IDS:
Elfer Castro’s by L-FY wood stool
This prototype is incredibly eye-catching. It’s slightly human, slightly creature aesthetic is a whimsical conversation piece.
These handmade and custom fireplaces are a magical delight for the senses and completely mesmerizing to watch. The effect is done with water vapour and light, so these ‘fireplaces’ are completely safe. Sayonara Fire Log channel.
Mobilia: The Roaring Twenties with Janette Ewan
*my photos of the booth were a blurry disaster, so this is from their website 🙂
I am a massive fan of Quebec-based brand, Mobilia. Their products are beautiful, practical and, in this collection collaboration with Janette Ewan, totally whimsical, taking you right back to the glamour of the 20’s.
There was just something about this sassy little minx of a chair I couldn’t stop looking at. The velvet, the tassels…I need this in my life.
Détente Custom Design
The incredible craftsmanship and creativity in this booth was remarkable. The original (and medieval torture devise looking) legs on this side table were really a stand-out.
It is a structure marvel. You just want to dive into it and cozy up forever.
And finally Canadian design star, EQ3.
Each year EQ3 creates a beautiful booth and area for you to explore their products. This year they created a tranquil and inspirational area that felt like a perfectly elevated-cozy home. Did you know all of EQ3 upholstery is made to-order in Winnipeg? I love their practical Canadian sensibilities…and how there are over 130 fabrics and leathers to choose from.
The Interior Design Show runs until tomorrow – so don’t miss out!
