I’m no fashion cool-kid. So when I was invited to the UNIQLO Fall collection preview I had to do some research so I could walk the fashion cool kid walk!
I had no idea the Fall launch of this iconic Japanese brand was also a celebration of their first store in Canada! Toronto’s Eaton Centre was selected as their first Canadian brick and mortar and it’s due to open early Fall. Their second location will open soon after, also in Toronto.
I also had no idea the brand has been around since 1974. Built on a foundation of designing simple apparel that act as building blocks for your wardrobe. Simple colours and cuts create a quality brand with fashion longevity.
The Fall preview featured three key areas: Knits, Heattech, Ultra Light Down.
The knits were soft like kittens and made of Cashmere, Merino and Lambs wool.
Heattech is a proprietary fabric that is ultra warm and ultra wearable.
Their Ultra Light Down will be perfect for Fall and early winter here in Canada. It is super lightweight, not bulky and can squish right down to fit in a small pouch. I wore it up to cottage country last weekend and it kept me cozy and packed up tight (so I had ample room for my shoes).
I look forward to the store opening this Fall and can’t wait to hear what you think!
