Toronto’s Fall|Winter ’16 Fashion Week was another successful week of jam-packed, back-to-back shows.
The usual suspects like Rudsak, Malorie Urbanovitch and Stephen Caras shone bright, but the show I was most captivated by was from Mackage.
During New York Fashion Week, part of the fun is venue hopping and dashing from place to place. Toronto lacks that energy, as all shows are kept centralized.
So when Mackage moved their show away from the Nathan Phillips Square tent to a separate venue and created an ice palace in a massive studio at the CBC building… They turned Toronto Fashion Week upside down!
They transformed the studio with ice crystal chandeliers, an igloo runway and all front row guests were treated like fashion royalty, Vegas-style, with bottle service.
I am a terrible fashion photographer (everything is blurry), but I wanted to show you some of highlights from the show and killer after party where DJ Guillaume Viau made even the more stoic fashionista shake it. So all these photos are from George Pimentel. Check out that perfect leather jacket!
Mackage is a true star in the fashion world.
The leather-loving Scott in me rejoiced with this number.
And look at the some of the famous faces that showed up!
My best friend Stacey McKenzie 😉 and World Heavyweight Champion Lennox Lewis.
I hope next year’s show incorporates even more breakthrough venue design and interactive elements.
