Last week an iconic American brand announced a first-of-a-kind campaign.
Titled “Will You”, the Tiffany & Co. Spring 2015 campaign will depict scenes conveying that modern love is not linear and that true love comes in a variety of forms.
…And although that message is not the ‘first of a kind’ for the American brand, one particular image from the campaign is.
An engagement photo between a same sex couple with a proposal written in script.
It’s not surprising that in this day and age advertising like this for Canadian brands has become more commonplace; but for Tiffany & Co. in the USA, the country that still refuses to honour same sex coupling across the country, it is a bold move.
I first took notice of the 178 year old company’s support of gender neutrality during their launch of T by Tiffany; the heritage brand’s first truly unisex collection, that offers sizes for both men & women.
Tiffany & Co. continues move forward celebrating all kinds of love, and their recent collections and marketing have been a classy stance on equality!
I would have expected nothing less.
