This week the newest addition to Calgary’s retail market opened at Market Mall, and with the promise of beautiful fashions and mini scones, I was only too happy to wake up extra early to attend!
This was the second location for the famed American retailer, J.CREW in Calgary, with its first opening just under a year ago in Chinook Centre. And although the store is only an additional 200 square feet larger, the changed layout makes it feel 3x bigger.
Well appointed ‘rooms’ for the women’s collection and a separate men’s area that displays its clothes like a dreamy male version of Carrie Bradshaw’s closet.
From suits, button-downs, ties and pocket squares, to the more ‘my style’ well-tailored casual look. The men’s collection is vast and plentiful.
I have to say that J.CREW’s arrival into the Canadian market has been nothing but flawless.
While some US retailers have taken heat for ‘holding back’ on selection, J.CREW has built stores just as they do at home and have filled them just the same.
Sure, just like most retailers, some items are only available in larger flagship stores, but J.CREW in Market Mall certainly does not shy away from housing unique and bold pieces.
Their newest location in Market Mall is roomy and easy to shop; And I’m certain that everyone will find their perfect item there.
Now recently I’ve been giving ‘kitten heels’ a hard time on Twitter, but for those who insist they can’t do a proper heel, I found these a satisfying compromise.
A suede mini pump that wears more like a flat!
