Today, M.Fab & I remember special moments from our youth; reliving those memories for all the other 80’s kids to enjoy!
Topsy Tail (Mr.Fab)
I’ll never forget the day I laid my eyes on this inventive little piece of moulded plastic. From that day on I yearned for long hair so I could flip my pony into the ultimate fashion statement.
The Golden Girls (M.Fab)
“Thank you for being a friend. Traveled down the road and back again. Your heart is true, you’re a pal and a confident. And if you threw a party, invited everyone you knew, you would see the biggest gift would be from me and the card attached would say ‘Thank you for being a friend’.”
Dorothy, Rose, Blanche and Sophia. These ladies told me dirty jokes before I even had the wherewithal to to know better. I loved their passion for cheesecake, their expression of friendship, their love of shoulder pads and how they made me hope for pals and confidents like these when I was old and grey.
My Buddy (Mr.Fab)
I wasn’t a very popular kid, so each Christmas I dreamt of finding the 5 foot box under the tree. He and I would be the best of friends, share each other’s clothes and even cheat on math tests. Sadly, he was never gifted to me and my lifelong BFF Buddy never happened.
Degrassi Jr High (M.Fab)
Seriously, what was better than ‘Degrassi Jr. High’? Nothing, in my mind. The true-to-life characters, the ground-breaking story lines, the incredible fashion… I felt like these characters were people I knew (but with much better hair). Canadian TV was at its finest when making this series. I still get all nostalgic today when I hear an alarm clock ring…
See you next Thursday when we dig up and share more of our past!
