Last week I was invited to the opening of glamourous Yorkville’s newest bar, but unlike a typical Saturday night bar, there was not a shot of vodka in sight!
Instead they swapped out the vodka for wheat grass and introduced me to The Good Press, Toronto’s ‘freshest cold-pressed juice bar’.
I loved this place from the moment I sashayed into it. Open, bright, friendly, and loaded with all the fruits and vegetables you could ever dream of. Coconut, avocados, lemons, carrots, beets… I’ll stop now before becoming a walking grocery list.
The best part about their ingredients is how they source them. Owners, husband and wife team, Leila and Andrew Ois take care and pride partnering with local and organic farmers.
Leila – quite possibly the nicest person in Toronto – made me her favourite smoothie – The Black Beauty.
She combined black kale (yes…there are different types of kale, who knew?), wild blueberries, spirulina powder (a nutrient-rich super algae) and apples into one heck of an impressive juicing device that pulped and juiced right before my very impressed eyes.
Focusing on convenient, nutrient-rich cold-pressed juices, The Good Press also offers an incredible menu with innovative snack and meal options. I can’t wait to go back and give one of their house-made nut milks a try and one of their açaí puree fruit bowls. Banana and coconut and avocado, oh my! I’ll be like Dorothy on a health kick.
The lovely people at The Good Press really care about their community and the lovely people in it. So, they also have an in-house nutritionist available for consultations by appointment. Amazing, right?!
A short hop from Bay street station, you have zero excuses not to give The Good Press a visit.
