Earlier this month when the April edition of Vogue hit the stands, like most readers, I was in shock and horror to find the face of Kim Kardashian on the cover.
When I think of ‘Vogue’ fashion, the last thing that comes to mind is Sears and the Kardashian Kollection.
Yet somehow the ‘designer‘ had made it on the cover, and even landed a spread!
Yes, I am a hater.
Certain that the selection to put Kim on the cover wasn’t made without a cash incentive; I decided to turn to the lady in the know, Lainey Gossip, to ask the question: “WTF?”
She shared with me a number of rumours which are swirling about the cover.
The idea that perhaps K2 had promised to buy several thousand copies to increase the appearance of circulation was interesting… But the most intriguing rumour is that Condé Nast wants famed editor Anna Wintour out and the choice to have Kimmy on the cover was her way of sending the message that she’s still in charge.
Regardless of the motivation, this month’s issue is trending to become the bestselling copy to-date, proving the success of the magazine isn’t always due to its invigorating content.
That being said Lainey and I have a great idea for the September Issue!
