Some people are vacation planners, but I’m a quick tripper!
An idea, a story or even a photo has been known to trigger a spur of the moment holiday for me. In fact, this past summer, as I flipped between my social media accounts (@immrfabulous) I saw a photo which set my travel wheels in motion.
Twitter has been the place where I source all of my news, and the faces I follow on Instagram are often dreamers like me. So when a NYC personality I follow (@kindrameyer) posted this photo, I begged to know more.
The city was Singapore and the location was the highest roof top infinity pool in the world! At a construction cost of $5.7 billion, the Marina Bay Sands is the most expensive resort ever built.
That night I could hardly sleep, I knew I needed to go. So, the next morning, I consigned some clothing, emptied my piggy bank and sold a few locks of hair. Two weeks later I was on a plane destined for Asia!
Then with 24 grueling hours of travel under my belt, I was floating in a dream come true.
Who would have ever thought that a random photo, from a girl I had never met would have triggered such an inspired vacation.
But with that trip over, I’m now clothing-less with an empty piggy bank and my next trip feels impossible… Or does it?
Right now my friends at Scotiabank are calling on dreamers like myself to enter their Around the World with $20K contest! They want to know, is it the culture, adventure, food or open roads that we’ll spend their booty on!
