December 12, 2015 will celebrate 100 years of Frank Sinatra but his long time friend, Jack Daniels, has started to celebrate the legend early! Paying homage to the cool cat, his long time friend Jack has developed a select blend to say ‘thank you’ for helping the brand shoot to fame decades ago!
The limited edition Sinatra Select
And last week I was invited into a room crammed full of people to raise a glass to the legend and to the news that the small batch of Jack that would be soon crossing the border.
The Sinatra Select, until now, has only been available for purchase in American international airports duty-free.
I even purchased my own bottle when leaving Las Vegas.
But now, Canadians will have the chance to purchase the bottle locally which will only be produced until the day of what would have been the singer’s 100th Birthday.
Jack Daniels has been my drink of choice for the last few years and because the brand has 4 classic batches and numerous limited & special edition batches available, I’m confident that everybody will find the perfect taste for them.
Made in Tennessee, this particular batch is stored in the usual oak casks with the difference being that the inside has been ‘grooved’. This means more of the whiskey touches the oak, giving it a unique flavour all its own.
The limited edition will be sold in Canada but be forewarned, the price point, although worth it, is quite steep.
An average price of $300 will be attached to the 750ml Sinatra Select.
Seems acceptable until I tell you that it’s priced at nearly half that in US duty-free.
Thanks to our ridiculous Canadian duty and import costs.
That being said, the product’s unbelievable taste is worth the exorbitant levy our government has placed on it.
So treat yourself this holiday and croon with Jack & Frank!
