Yesterday I arrived in NYC, just in time to kick off Fashion Week!!
Spending my summers on the farm as a teen I often dreamt, as I was worked the dirt runway in an orange tarp, what the actual runways of NYC would look like.
And finally, that dream has come true!

For the next week, I’ll be tweeting and writing all things fashion from the Big Apple!
First up, Pier 59 Studios and the OK! Australia Fashion Palette Spring ’14 Show
After a quick taxi ride, I arrived at Chelsea Piers, and with my bag full of horse shoes, wishbones, and 4-leaf clovers… I was escorted into the front row.
Okay, so maybe I wasn’t ‘escorted’ but that’s where I ended up.
Nobody puts baby in the corner.
The show was divided into 8 Australian designers and lasted a little less than 25 minutes.

The show taught me that sheer fabrics are going to be a huge trend for Spring ’14.
And these models were pulling the look off well!
PHILIPPA GALASSO
The standout for me was the stunning collection from ET AL which saw both men and women walking the runway.
ET AL
The designs were flowing and constructed with light weight material to not only show off your sexy side but keep you cool while you’re eye bangin’ the world!
ET AL
The collection was black, sophisticated and complicated; I was in love!
The show closed with Steven Khalil showing a very elegant collection of evening gowns and several numbers that could easily be worn as a modern-day wedding dresses.

The lights lifted and the show was over. People scattered like rats in the subway and the room was left vacant.
It was a cool venue and a great show to kick off my Fashion Week!
