With so many Nieces and Nephews to shop for this Christmas, I decided to devise a plan earlier this year to stay on top and find out what the coolest toys were this holiday season.
Much too young to play Santa and much too tall to play an Elf, I thought I might be out of luck… But then the phone rang!
An offer to spread holiday joy each weekend in December as the Nutcracker!
The request was simple, don a suit, paint on rosy cheeks, then top it off with a crown and march through the mall doing what I do best;
Causing a commotion!
And I wasn’t alone! What would the Nutcracker be without his sidekick, the Sugar Plum Fairy!?
The two of us would parade through the mall as ecstatic children ran up to us begging for photos and high fives; we were celebrities!
We shared our stories of living at the North Pole with Santa with hundreds of children.
Talks of our lives with the Reindeer, Frosty, Elves and Mrs. Clause filled their tiny spirits with happiness and wonder.
And of course it put me in a position to hear all about their wish list they had created for Santa.
Cruises, iPods, gaming systems and “everything I see on the TV” where popular choices.
But overall spending my weekend around so many families shopping together showed me what the best gift of all was.
Time together
So that mixed with a bit of Lego is exactly what I gave!
What a great way to spend my December!

I couldn’t agree more. Well said
