Next Thursday I will be doing something I have never done before to help raise awareness and a couple of bucks for charity.
That’s right, I’ll be flouncing through the streets of Calgary wearing my very own pair of size 13 heels to support the YWCA’s charitable event, Walk A Mile In Her Shoes.
Now I tried to source out a pair of Louboutins or Jimmy Choo’s… But sadly my pups were just too big. And when I thought I was out of luck, the fine folks at YWCA sent me a pair of their finest heels.
The Pleasers
When I first slid on the ‘Pleasers’, I wondered where they got their name? If they were actually describing what they felt like they should have been named the “Oh my God I have lost feeling in 2 toes, a blister is forming and I’m developing shin splints!” They were not ‘pleasing’ anyone!
But this moment is for charity, and if I can help women and their children walk away from family violence by donning a pair of foot deforming heels, I’m going to do it!
The event will take place at Noon, Thursday September 20th in Calgary, Alberta, at Olympic Plaza.
My goal is to raise $1000 to donate to YWCA of Calgary so it can help break the cycle of family violence and help keep women and their children safe.
So if you can find it in your budget to donate anything, even $1, please visit my donation page and toss in what you can.

If not maybe you can also strap on a pair of ‘toe manglers’ and help draw attention to this important cause!
Thanks for all your support!
