It’s Nation FAB food week! (a self-made fabulous holiday)
A few days ago I was invited to sample the menu offered up by TYN lounge.
It’s more then just your standard resturant, in the 6 months that they have been open they have managed to develop quite the popular Saturday Night Hip Hop crowd as they moonlight as a club by night.
So is it possible to be one place serving two purposes?
Sure! TYN offers a medium-sized menu and prides themselves on infusing nectarine into most of their dishes. Some are quite apparent and others more ambiguous.
This is the perfect place if you’re looking to enjoy some interesting, unique and well-priced food and cocktails. I would definitely make this my first stop prior to heading to the theatre or catching drinks after work with friends.
Here’s what I’d order to make a perfect evening!
Maple Duck Fat Popcorn
This aint no Jiffy Pop, this is a gourmet treat with a sophisticated salty and sweet taste. The flavours make the perfect combination
Duck Confit Pizza – with Brie, Arugula, Caramelized Onion and Nectarine Jam ($14)
Yes it’s as good as it sounds. You’ll never find this anywhere else!
TYN Chips – Potato, Beat and Yam Chips served with Caramelized Onion Dip. ($6)
I have eaten a lot of chips and dip from a variety of restaurants but this dip is perfection without being overpowering and the Beat and Yam chips are a fabulous addition!
Now of course I needed to wash it down with something!
Here are my top 2 drinks I’d be ordering!
The Mona Sangria (3oz – $11) Malibu, Banana Liquour, Soho Liqour, orange and pineapple juice with a splash of Red Wine
I almost took my pants off and danced on the table!
Japanese Sake Caesar ($8.50) Sake, Clamato, Citrus Wasabi Spice, Lemongrass Syrup.
I thought I was a fiesty Geisha!
Their food is delicious and venue is modern and even though it did feel like I was eating on a dance floor, I was in love with the space. It’s my taste and if I find myself getting married anytime soon, I’ll be calling them to book them as my venue and catering!
