There are those days in your life that things just start to happen and the next thing you know you are on a really fast rollercoaster ride wondering how you got there.
This was the case last night with the New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys concert.
It all started with me getting a couple of tickets off Ticketmaster (yes I paid, not everything in life is free). I was satisfied with my seats, but then in a whirlwind my concert date explained she knew someone in the band…Next thing I knew I was slapped with a VIP tag, touring their trailer and watching Brian and A.J racing and jumping their RC cars. I was living a dream.
Then through the back stage door and onto the stage I snapped a few pictures of the opening act, Mr. Schuester from Glee fame. This was getting more bizarre by the minute.
Fast forward a few minutes and I am front row and the show had begun. Standing with some of the biggest NKOTB and BSB fans, I was in great company!
Then like in a movie, my favorite BSB Brian looks at me, points and says “I like your bandana.” Could it be? I pulled off country chic and was being called fabulous by a heart throb?
If that wasn’t enough to send me into a mild cardiac arrest, as the show was coming to a close, AJ takes off his cowboy hat and tosses it in my direction. Now I have never pulled a girls hair and as tempting as it was, I remained full of class and didn’t snatch the hat. I was thrilled though that she let me wear it for a bit…sweat and all.
When the show was over and the ‘ugly’ lights came on, myself and 15 VIP tag wearers were escorted down to the green room for a Meet & Greet. Along the way we passed Jordon and Danny, soon they would all be joining us.
Then, 4 at a time, people were taken to meet the boys in the dressing rooms. The process was quite long, after 40 minutes the second group was taken, we were up next. 15 minutes later the worst news possible came. The boys had to go. With a 22 hour drive to Minneapolis ahead of them they could not stay any longer.
Devistation!
The promoters were so sorry this had happen to us; they didn’t know what to say. After wiping my tears I was given a heart felt appology (it wasn’t their fault) and given 4 tickets to the Sugarland concert and some passes to Stampede.
At the end of it all, I feel really lucky for the whole night. I met some really awesome fans, got front row to see my idols, and stepped on their stage. I am still as big as fan as ever.
And now you can profit from my sadness!
I am giving away 2 sets of 2 tickets to Sugarland for Friday the 15th, 7:30 at the Saddledome. All you have to do is tweet me and I’ll pick a winner. Tweet away @immrfabulous
