WestJet’s 12 Flights of Christmas – Day 12!

November 29, 2017

Each year, as soon as the snow starts falling, I impatiently await for WestJet to release its viral Christmas Miracle video that inevitably has me flying through an array of emotions.

From the Fort McMurray Christmas party that had me in tears, to the year the big blue Santa Claus gifted a plane full of guests iPods, the video has become a holiday tradition to watch.

And like most viewers, I have always wished I would be a part of the surprise!

Well holiday wishes came true this year as WestJet invited me to surprise a plane full of people… But then turned the tables and invited me to join them at theirs!

Last night was the final celebration of WestJet’s 12 Flights of Christmas, and myself and a plane full of guests arriving from Saskatoon to Calgary were treated to a holiday feast none of us will ever forget!

As we approached the baggage carousel, gifts poured out and a beautiful table was set for 130!

After taking our seats a blue and teal army of WestJetters poured out of Santa’s sleigh carrying a feast fit for a king!

But it wasn’t Mrs. Claus who spent the day in the kitchen, it was none other than Top Chef Canada’s All-Star Winner Nicole Gomes!!

And what she was serving was a hefty competitor for Best Holiday Meal I’ve ever been served… Sorry Mom!

A locally farmed dish of stuffed winter turkey with confit turkey leg nestled on a bead of smoked mashed potatoes and topped with homemade cranberry sauce and traditional gravy!

Christmas perfection served in a plate in November!

But that wasn’t all… Dessert was still to come!

And if you’ve ever watched the WestJet Miracle Videos you’d know, just like all of us knew, ‘dessert’ was going to be epic!!!

So once the tables were set, a grand reveal occurred!

It was a gift with a bow, beautifully displayed.

And as our fingers all worked quickly, you could hear the screams. Then Santa Ho-Ho-Ho’d;

“Merry Christmas to all and to all a FREE FLIGHT!”

With that: hugs, high fives and applause filled the arrival halls!

Christmas had indeed come early and a table filled with strangers all celebrated together as part of the WestJet family!

Thanks WestJet for filling our hearts with joy and creating such a special memory!
