Travel Friendly Beauty

November 17, 2017

If you’ve been reading the blog for a while, you may know that I’m always on the search for products to travel with. Hauling a massive bag everywhere is my personal nightmare. Wah, I want a personal concierge!

So, if you’re planning a get-away in the near future, here are some great additions that won’t take up that much space.

Miniature Lots of Bubbles Selection Box
($18/100ml x 6)

There is nothing like sudsing up with a fave scent or two while on the road. The Miniature Lots of Bubbles Selection Box of I Love Cosmetics Bath and Shower Crèmes are delightful. With 6 scents to choose from, your tired travelling tootsies will be smelling like a delicious candy shoppe on the next lay-over!

Vivier Pharma Sunscreen Lotion 30 S.P.F.
($46/60ml)

No matter the weather, I never leave the house without my Vivier Pharma Sunscreen Lotion 30. I’ve worn on set, fashion shoots and my everyday life. There is no greasy feeling or white chalky residue left on my skin. No break-outs and helps protect my face against sun damage. Truly an awesome medical grade product that comes on my every trip.

Schmidt’s Lavendar and Sage Natural Deodorant
($4.99/19.8g)

As I age, I’m becoming more concerned with maintaining good health, so natural products are calling to me. For the past month, I’ve been testing Schmidt’s Lavender and Sage Natural Deodorant and I am positively surprised. After teaching a bootcamp exercise class followed by teaching a classical ballet class immediately after, I did not smell. Nothing but a lavender garden here! Granted, I applied just before beginning the first class but I am amazed at how well this works. And, the petite size is perfect for any travel vanity.

CND Ridge Fix ($4.95/3.7ml) and Solar Oil ($4/3.7ml)

Planes dehydrate my nails like mad. I like to pop on the CND Solar Oil before and mid-flight to try to keep some moisture in my cuticles. Then if I have poor eating habits while in transit it appears on my nails with ridges and dents. Ridge Fix comes to the rescue to make my paws pretty while healing during any trip.

St. Tropez Self Tan Express Starter Kit
($36/75 ml, 75 ml, 50 ml, mitt)

This is the pièce de la résistance when travelling somewhere tropical. Use full on sun block and floppy Samantha Jones-esque hat while on the beach, but still have a golden sun kissed glow when heading out for an evening with your significant other. Polish skin, apply mousse with mitt and treat with moisturizer. Incredibly easy and oh so J Glowy! Best part is this entire kit could come in the carry-on.

Marc Anthony Hydrating Coconut and Nourishing Argan Oil
($9.99/53ml, $9.99/120ml, $3/50ml )

After being in recycled air on a plane or travelling from humid as an aquarium Montréal to dry as toast Alberta, my hair becomes like straw. It needs tonnes of lock love and Marc Anthony is a promising new contender with their Nourishing and Hydrating hair masks, oils and hairsprays. Hydrating Coconut Oil or Nourishing Argan Oil lines both recommend starting with the oil on damp locks followed by a gentle hairspray and an intensive hair mask for a deeper treatment to give flowing luscious locks. Who doesn’t love mermaid hair? Plus, the coconut hairspray smells like a day in Maui! Both are welcome travel size additions to anyone’s beauty tote.

As fall is wrapping her chill around us, may the above travel-friendly products inspire your next fun destination in the sun or elsewhere!

Bisous,
