The 22nd Annual Starlight Children’s Foundation Gala

April 13, 2017

This weekend Toronto’s chic and charitable took over The Fairmont Royal York Ballroom for The Starlight Children’s Foundation Canada’s 22nd Annual charity gala. With a Venetian Masquerade Ball theme, the night was a glittering spectacle leaving you feel inspired and uplifted.

We at immrfabulous.com are proud supporters of this amazing charity who help ‘provide smiles, laughter and joy’ for children who live with serious illness and their families.

From the very start of a child’s journey while in-hospital, to out-of-hospital ‘escapes’ and ‘wishes’, this ambitious charity is always looking to expand to more hospitals across Canada.

In order to keep offering the level of care and achieve the expansion they want, they host their annual fundraising Gala.

This year’s event was hosted by Rick Campanelli (AKA ‘Rick The Temp’) and was filled with executives from Disney, Toys ‘R Us, Matel and LEGO… I even saw a few ‘Real Housewives of Toronto’.

We were treated to masked musicians, dancers and actors dressed in Venetian flare before dinner started.

Everyone selected a Venetian mask and sipped on bubbles from the open bar. I loved looking at everyone’s glamourous outfits…Toronto can bring the fashion! I am so glad I stopped into our fave, Nordstrom, to get a suitably chic outfit 🙂

The table decor, the live entertainment and food were all superb. The night was paced perfectly with lots of time to continue to give via the live auction, raffle tickets and purchasing of ‘wishes’. Each wish is valued at $3500 and this year they raised an incredible $300,000.

Once dinner wrapped, the party-goers were invited into a separate dance area complete with Instagrammable corners, a DJ and late night snacks.

It was the type of event where you leave feeling uplifted by the generosity of others and hopeful for all the amazing memories so many sick children will get to now experience.

Held every Spring, this fundraising gala is the perfect night out and I encourage you to go next year! If you can’t go, you can always sponsor a Starlight family, donate or volunteer at the Gala. You can see all the ways to help, on their website here.
