Suite 339. The Georgine Suite. #NYFW

February 22, 2017

This season, during NYFW, I saw numerous show and presentations and had some pretty exceptional moments.

But when I was invited backstage of my favourite NY based designer Georgine to preview the collection, prior to the runway show, my jaw dropped and I was rendered speech.

This season, for her F/W 2017 collection, Georgine was inspired by those ‘Permanent Hotel Dwellers who call the world’s most interesting properties home’.

From Coco Chanel’s lux suit at The Ritz to The Chelsea Hotel Warhol’s muse Edie Sedgwick called home, 32 looks were designed and styled to perfection giving us a peek into what the lives of these sexy, flirtatious, glamorous and mysterious creatures must have been like.

Backstage, after dodging the busy hair designers, who were meticulously fitting each model with sheik sleek black wig and weaving between the M.A.C makeup artists who were creating deep smokey eyes, I found myself in “Another Dimension, Another Time, Another Planet… I had arrived at Suite 339.”

The Georgine Suite

A behind the scenes look into exorbitant closet of filled with exceptional lace, leather, metallics and furs.

A mix of all materials one would expect to see dancing in and out of a luxury hotel.

Season after season, collection after collection, I continue to fall more and more in love with the design, the story, and the world of Georgine.
