Retinol: The Anti-Aging Booster

January 24, 2017

A couple of months back I mentioned going into VivierSkin retinols with more detail. Seeing as skin can become extra dry and lack-luster during these winter months, I think the time is right!
If you’ve been a dear FAB reader for awhile, you already know why I love VivierSkin. Their pharmaceutical grade products have been saving my face for about 6 years now.

Why do I use their 1% Retinol SR Complex
Anti-aging results is the answer. Prevents wrinkles, smooths fine lines and refines pore size. That’s right. I am that vain.

How does this happen?
The 1% Retinol SR Complex slowly releases microencapsulated retinol (Vitamin A) to gently slough away dead skin cells to reveal new skin. Literally. And, that is no hyperbole. Literal new skin is revealed.

How to use it?

Originally, I started on the SkinTx Retinol SR Facial Treatment and remained on that for about 2 years. I tried other OTC retinols, but didn’t like my results, so I came back to VivierSkin. Only recently, have I moved up to the 1% Retinol SR Complex – since November.
To begin, 1 night a week was enough for my skin. I SLOWLY increased adding additional nights after 3-4 weeks. That said, I’m now only at 2 nights per week on my face and neck. Pssst – I tried increasing and immediately I saw the result of peeling skin, which was too much for my skin type (sensitive combination oily), so I backed off.

Important details to know?
If you begin on this awesome anti-aging journey, USE A SUNSCREEN EVERY SINGLE DAY. Reason being you are exposing brand new baby skin. Why would you age the beautiful fresh skin with sun damage when you’re trying to reverse just that?

My go to is VivierSkin Sunscreen Lotion 30. I even have an extra bottle in my gym bag to smooth on after my sweat sesh, before heading back out into the sun. It’s the only sunscreen I’ve found that doesn’t leave me white like a ghost or slick like a bucket of fried chicken.

I never hesitate to wear it in front of the camera for filming. Or outdoor shoots like this one for Guillotine, where the MUA wanted an ‘ingenue innocence’, so I only wore VivierSkin Sunscreen Lotion 30 and she applied concealer with a touch of powder. Oui, VivierSkin is that good.

When in doubt, head to any dermatologist or reputable medical spa and ask for a skin consultation to see if retinol should be in your bag of beauty tricks. Plus, I guarantee that VivierSkin will be found on their shelves. Happy radiant skin is in the near future!
