Lock in Your Love for SickKids

December 16, 2016

Love Locks are a symbol of everlasting commitment and love. Historically you demonstrate your eternal love for someone by affixing a lock and throwing away the key.

Popping up globally, this tradition has exploded since the infamous Pont des Arts Bridge in the heart of Paris gained so much international attention; travellers flocking there to show their love in the city of lights.

This year Vaughan Mills created a Love Lock wall. It’s a wall with a beautiful twist representing the true spirit of the holidays.
For every ‘love lock’ purchased, 100% of the proceeds go directly towards SickKids as part of their ‘GIVE’ campaign.

Shoppers who purchase a lock have the opportunity to dedicate the lock before placing it on the wall. In return they receive a lovely commemorative necklace.

This necklace can either be worn or given to your loved one as a symbol of the donation made in their name.

One lock is $15; two can be purchased for $25. This year the goal is to raise a much-needed $150,000 for SickKids…so they’re also getting Santa involved!
At the Mall’s ‘Santa’s Tiny Big Town’ you can also show your support by having your annual Santa photo done because 100% of Santa’s photo package proceeds are also being donated to SickKids.
The Love Lock Wall and Santa’s Tiny Big Town can be found at the ‘Sport Court’ (Entry 4A) side of the mall and will be open until December 24th.
Not sure how to get to the Mall this year? Vaughan Mills has daily Toronto shuttles, departing near Union Station.
