FAB’s in London with #GQforGap

September 27, 2016

GQ is celebrating the 10th year of its Best New Menswear Designers in America program. The program was established in 2007 and aims to advance and bring attention to emerging American menswear designers.

To mark this milestone, they’re bringing back 4 of their favourite past designers from the program to launch some exciting collections.

The collections will be carried by one of the world’s most iconic apparel and accessories brands – Gap; which celebrates 5 years of involvement with the program by teaming up with the these 4 design All-Stars!

On September 27th, the 4 limited edition capsule collections will be exclusively available in select Gap locations around the globe.

But knowing I couldn’t wait another minute, my friends at Gap offered to give me and my FAB readers an opportunity to touch, feel and share the #GQforGap collaboration from London, England… Just hours before the collection hit the Canadian market.

To create the collections each of the 4 designers took part in a mentoring program led by GQ and Gap.

The collections include tailored trousers and denim, overcoats, leather jackets, classic tees and sweatshirts, sweatpants, and a variety of button down shirts along with accessories — including hats, bags, and socks.

Here is a look at each of the 4 designers and thier collections:

Michael Bastian (New York, established 2006, GQ Class of ‘07, ‘11)

This collection was my childhood closet! Cozy fleece, great prints and duel striped clothing!

There’s even a toque with a pom!

I absolutely LOVED everything in the collection… And though it was nearly impossible to pick my favourite Bastian piece, I’d have to go with this soft sided duffle to honour my bag obsession!

It’s a perfect size for a wintery chalet overnight in the mountains.

Steven Alan (New York, established 1994, GQ Class of ’08)

Alan’s collection consists of the essentials done well!

Tops, pants and a perfect Fall jacket!

My favourite piece in this collection is his black and white checked top that’ll be easy to wear casually unbuttoned or done up under a blazer!

Saturdays NYC (New York, established 2009, GQ Class of ‘12)

This collection is simplistically bold!

Many of the pieces in the collection are adorned with the same logo and are incredibly soft & comfortable.

And because I refuse to ever let Summer come to an end, these ‘dipped’ shorts are my favourite piece from the collection!

John Elliott (Los Angeles, established 2012, GQ Class of ‘14)

This collection kicks A**!

It’s everything I’ve ever wanted to wear but haven’t been daring enough to try!

The must-have piece from Elliott’s collection?

This insanely cool leather jacket!

From 4 design brands comes 4 unique collections!

There is definitely something for everyone!

Thanks GAP for the amazing fun in London!

And thanks for encouraging and supporting designers to keep creating amazing collections!
