As the lights come up on every show and presentation during NYFW, an excited chill runs through my body. Being at the shows is a surreal experience.
And this season, 1 show in particular transported me into a whole other realm of speechlessness!
Scotch & Soda Spring Summer 2017 and “The World According To Heavenly Creatures”
The presentation took place late afternoon in a rather unique and mysteriously particular location in Essex.
A perfect location to foreshadow what was soon to come.
After entering the venue, we were staged in a darkened room with a seemingly sky high velvet curtain just meters in front of us.
Then what happened was purely magical!
The curtain opened, the light danced and the music grew as we were transported into a new world!
“The SS17 presentation reveals three such natural habitats, embracing the colourful influences of each. Rainforest-muted brights layered with lush metallics, transform to desert heat-washed monochromes and earthier tones. The collection’s colour ends on a high of toxic-creature brights.”
“Scotch & Soda SS17 injects different takes on animal and flora-inspired prints and patterns, executed across maxi and micro proportions. The story also unveils clever new ways to layer. Delicate whisps of organza, silk and lace are belted and toughened with leather and metalware accessories, and layered with open-back ‘bibs’ in animal and stonewashed prints.”
And it’s the bibs I couldn’t take my eyes off of!
A unique piece of fashion I have never seen the likes of before! A must have for me as soon as the collection hits stores in 2017!
Scotch and Soda continues to push boundaries and unapologetically ruffles collars along the way.
I’ve been a long time fan of the Amsterdam based fashion brand and appreciate that they continue to produce style in their own original way!
And even though I’ve returned to planet earth, I won’t soon forget my amazing experience in their world!
You were my favourite fashion memories from the week Scotch & Soda!
