1642 Tonic

December 12, 2015

Milk & Cookies may work for Santa, but I prefer something a little ahem stronger over the holidays ; ).

So, I was delighted this week to attend the launch for the newest mix on the block: 1642 Tonic!

Manufactured in Montréal and from the makers of 1642 Cola, this new fizzy & fresh beverage will soon be found all across Canada.

Talk about CRISP. Hints of cucumber and rose petals, my tongue was teased into a frenzy! Another round, svp!

Whether with Gin & fresh grapefruit.

Or Vodka & baby dill – trust, it’s outstanding! 1642 Tonic is a DELICIOUS new beverage partner.

Mes, amis. I’d like to take a moment to discuss the 1642 Tonic launch event as a whole: SHUT YOUR FACE.

Talk about impressive!

Hosted in my fav Montréal area: über hip Saint Henri. With exposed brick, scattered candles and a live portrait artist, it felt like it was an NYC loft style soirée. Simply cool!

From Artisan Sweets to Savory Charcuteries to Chic Choc (crazy delicious Québec Maple Syrup infused Rum). There was literally something for everyone.

My two foodie favs of the night:

To compliment the 1642 Tonic flavour: Lime & Basil Vanilla Cupcakes from Sweet Isabelle . YUM. I would like these for my bday cake next year, pretty please!

And, then the poutine from the Schnitzel Truck

How good was it? I was in the middle of a conversation with a woman when an on-coming server caught her eye and she yelled, “Poutine. POUTINE. POUTINE!!!!!”

At first I was taken off guard, until after shimmying her way through people to the tray, she handed me a serving. WOW. I completely understood and gobbled down a SECOND.

It was stupidly decadent. Next time, my tastebuds are asking me to bring ‘the fat pants’.

From the cool vibe to the delicious treats, I left this event FULLY SATIATED.

As for 1642 Tonic, it’s found a home on my festive table along with the Canadian make-up mogul Lise Watier’s  Quartz Vodka. Joyeuses Fêtes!

Bisous,
