The city I call home (Calgary, Ab) is forever changing. Slow & steady seems to be our pace…
But Sunday morning I sprung from bed to partake in a brunch event that was so bold and unique it has me standing in front of my computer reviewing my photos, cheering and chanting for an “Encore!”
Bespoke Toast & Jam
A delicious buffet breakfast from the very talented Nicole Gomez from Top Chef Canada fame.
Her brunch was big, bold and full of delicious surprises.
The votes rolled in and the tummies of the crowd spoke: the Breakfast Mushroom Potato Poutine was the solid winner!
And the rest all tied for a close second; Monte Cristo sandwiches with bourbon maple syrup, personal sized egg frittatas with romesco sauce, and thyme roasted vine tomatoes.
But where was the Jam?
The fruity champagne from Veuve Clicquot, the creative shots and the amazing beats being turned out from renowned Montreal DJ, Thomas H.
What had started as a white linen-ed breakfast had begun to transform into an afternoon affair of cocktails, conversation and booty shaking.
It was time to work off the dozen mini cupcakes from Carlie’s Cupcakes I managed to gobble up.
The entire morning was an experience our city has never seen before!
I have attended many ‘boozy brunches’ in LA & NYC, and finally a team was daring enough to be the first to bring the concept to Calgary.
And I have to say: they hit a home run!
Toast & Jam will be back and I promise you, I will be fighting to get a ticket!
