Blu-Dot Deliciousness

April 29, 2014

I’m not a soft drink fan – the excessively aggressive fizz, those nasty fake sugars, that fuzzy-teeth feeling… No thanks.

So when I was feeling whimsical the other day at the ‘ol grocery store here in Toronto, and saw some pretty-coloured, ready-made protein teas with fibre – called ‘Blu-Dot’ – I had to try one.

Choosing the Cranberry Pomegranate Green Tea flavour I was hesitant it would taste chalky or like some corn-syrup laden concoction made to look healthy when in fact it was masking all kinds of suspicious ingredients.

Not the case at all! Upon further inspection, it is clear the ingredients are natural and organic. All teas are sweetened naturally using either organic cane juice or stevia. The whey protein and prebiotic dietary fibre in each tea are especially exotic, coming all the way from New Zealand. A Canadian tea company, using products from New Zealand – go Commonwealth!

Not a girl to be swayed by a product’s international flair, I needed to know if Blu-Dot was a one trick pony or if all flavours tasted good!

The lovely people at Blu-Dot beverages sent me over a sample of each of their five flavours of green tea: Orange Pineapple, Blueberry Acai, Honey Lemon, Cranberry Pomegranate and Apple Pear – their white tea option.

Each one tastes unique, crisp and fruity while being delightfully healthy at as low as just 60 calories with 12g of protein per bottle.
Now if you are a taste-conscious person like me who likes to have the added bonus of health and nutrition, this drink is for you.

The best part? Blu-Dot teas are offered across Canada. You can find a store near you, here. Oh…and they taste great with vodka;)

Hope you enjoy them as much as I have!
