I was welcomed graciously at the Bloor Street West retailer: red carpet, champagne, and charming wait staff who were circulating adorably tiny Hors d’oeuvres.
Only first class for Maison Birks and this girl.
The exclusive-to-Birks collection inspiration was described to me as an Italian vintage trend called the ‘television shape’, paying tribute to the softly squared look of 1950s monitors.
The polka dot pattern is also reminiscent of the 50s, but so on trend and modern in its uniformity and geometric appeal.
I love how stackable these pieces are. The bangles are the perfect foundational piece to build your look onto. Bold, but not overpowering. Sparkling but not in-your-face about it.
I was lucky enough to be able to try on the 18k gold, quadruple row diamond bangle, but I was too slow to make a clean get-a-way. Damn high heels!
The collection’s rings, earrings, bangles, necklaces and pendants all come in three gold’s; white, rose and gold. They also come with or without diamonds.
What I love about the Pois Moi bangles is they come in different sizes for those with teeny wrists, and larger for those who like their bangles looser.
This collection was two-years in the making as Roberto Coin wanted it to be perfect before the release. Because of that, Pois Moi is a must-see collection, and because it is exclusive to Birks, you ‘must see’ it at one of the Birks locations across Canada.
Bad pun, I know…I am obviously still distracted by all the sparkles!
Thank you for the top-class time, Maison Birks… And for the lovely party take-away.
