Back in 2011, I did some work on a film set which was producing a new futuristic sci-fi pilot.

Borealis 2045 is set in the now melted Artic.

Global warming has changed the face of the earth and the battle to mine the last of the world’s oil, natural gas and diamonds has become an all out war.

Canadian born lead Ty Olsson, who plays Vic Carboneau, has been positioned in the small Artic town to maintain law and order; but everyone in the north has their own agenda.

It was very interesting to be on a set that had to be imagined and created for a time that has never existed.

Green screens were used in post production to eliminate the lush environment we filmed in, to create an atmosphere all to its own.

It’s been a long wait since 2011 but tonight Borealis 2045 will air on
SPACE channel from 7-9.
