Model Casting… Your turn!

January 9, 2012

Modelling has always been a dream of mine and a lot of people have asked me how I got started.

For me it was a mix of luck, determination and good fortune… and now it’s your turn!

I have had the chance to work with a variety of  talented editors, concept designers, stylists, and photographers in the past and due to a change in the marketplace, several are teaming up and are starting their own company (name TBA).

On Friday they will be hosting a casting call, looking for people of all ages, races and body types who live in Calgary or the surrounding area for their future shoots.

The art directors and photographers will be there, this is a great way for everyone to meet the new team and be seen for future consideration.

These are people I have worked with before and I can assure you that they are the best… and trust me, I aint no Tyra… they are looking for ALL types of people.

Castings like this are fairly quick. You can expect to fill out a small bio and then a few photos will be taken of you. Normally it will be one close up of your face/shoulders, one full body, and two profile shots (one from each side). They keep these photos on file to reference for future bookings. At a later time and date, if they are interested in booking you for a shoot, they will contact you directly (or through your agent if you have one). They’ll describe the concept they will be shooting and offer you a daily or hourly rate.

These are typically ‘stock’ shoots so you sign away rights to all photos and the company can sell them to multiple vendors. The exciting part is that you never know where you’ll end up!

Now as for pay… It varies. This is not the cover of Vogue and you are not Naomi Campbell, so get your head out of the clouds. At the end of the day you’ll probably have enough money to go out for a nice evening with your lover.

If you want to be considered for future shoots and meet this incredible team, here are the details:
