CORE Holiday Gift Guide #6

November 23, 2011

Every year when the snow would start to fall, I could barely wait to run home after school and check the mailbox; for it was Christmas card season and there was one card that I waited impatiently for. From my wealthy aunt came the prized holiday card, the show stopper that would sit on the mantel covered with sparkles, mini jewels and dangly 3D paper cutouts. Then over the years the card quality slowly depleted and the bling disappeared, Christmas was no longer the same.

So you can only imagine my excitement when I walked into Papyrus.

Walls and tables stacked with boxes and boxes of the most fab’d out greeting cards I had ever seen! Much to my surprise, these cards were still being made!

There were sparkles and rubies glued to every corner, pom poms and ribbons adorned most of the cards, I nearly needed a respirator!  So if you’re looking to be the star of card season, this is your one stop shop! (average $28.95/8)

Now I was on the hunt for more bling! I continued my shopping and popped into Browns Shoes. Browns has a few locations in Calgary but in the CORE they carry several exclusive lines of men’s shoes which you can’t find anywhere else in the city. ($250 -$550)

These shoes were definitely full of ‘shine’! And although they offer a little too much flair for me they’d be perfect for a guy who loves to be noticed. With the mix of great brands, style, and quality they carry.

Lastly I wanted to find the perfect ‘tricked out’ gifts for the girls in my life. After all, they want to be noticed too and not always for wearing something sheer and low cut.

Only available in the CORE’s H&M is a line called ‘Trend’.

This line offers a fashion forward approach, mixing a combination of colours and materials. The age range on many of the items is quite diverse and I think they make perfect layering pieces to compliment your outfits.

Why not pick up an interesting top for her that can be worn underneath a blazer during the day and transition into a wow look for after work cocktails.

No matter what age you’re shopping for, these girls love to spice up their wardrobe so trust your picks, I’m sure they’ll love it.

For finishing off your look, this week while shopping I fell in love with some more ‘bling’! A necklace ($80) from Nicole Richies jewelry line ‘House of Harlow’ I bought one for myself and decided to pick up two more to give away to YOU!

Then to top it all off I am going to include a pair of tickets to Twas the Night for each winner!

To win you have 2 ways to enter!
